Samsung today confirmed to have initiated mass production of industry’s fastest NAND flash memory for mobile devices. Premium smartphones and tablets equipped with the eMMC Pro Class 1500 will allow consumers to read and write data at speeds of up to 140MB/s and 50MB/s respectively, making it four times faster than the prevalent NAND flash solution.
Produced in capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, it uses 20nm 64-gigabit (Gb) NAND with a toggle DDR 2.0 interface and the first to support JEDEC e-MMC v4.5 specification.
