Sony Tablet S gets Android 4.0 update

Sony has announced the release of Android 4.0 for its Tablet S device. The tablet came with Android 3.0 but can now be upgraded to Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich via an over-the-air update. Android 4.0 on Tablet S brings in lots of new features and improvements like enhanced lock screen, panoramic mode, small apps to activate apps like Calculator, Browser and Remote Control quickly, improved web browser and native screenshot capture ability.

Sony says Tablet S users will be prompted to update as soon as they connect it to Wi-Fi or users can check it manually.

For consumers purchasing the device by May 12, they’ll be eligible for a $50 instant rebate and a free cradle accessory.
