Samsung had a single tablet offering about 2 years back but currently has the highest number of Android tablets in the market. Announced today is a new 7-incher dubbed as Galaxy Tab 2 and the unique thing about this tablet is that it runs Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich OS out-of-the-box.
As for hardware, the specs are pretty mediocre considering its target market. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and comes with a slightly improved 7-inch WSVGA (1024×600) PLS LCD.
Additionally, the tablet supports HSPA+ connectivity, Wi-Fi, 3MP main camera with front-facing VGA camera, full HD video playback and 720p HD video playback, variety of multimedia codec support, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, 8/16/32GB internal memory (depends on the region), microSD card slot up to 32GB and 4,000mAh battery.
It goes without saying that Samsung has customized the software with TouchWiz UI and Live Panel and comes with other Samsung services like Samsung Apps, Hub services, ChatON messaging, S Suggest, AllShare Play etc.
Samsung will release the tablet first in UK in March followed by other regions.
