Sony has announced its entry in the Indian tablet market with two new introductions. Tablet S and Tablet P run Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS and will be available nationwide starting mid-Jan 2012. Featuring a unique wedge-shaped design that resembles a folded magazine, Tablet S comes with a 9.4-inch TruBlack display, Tegra 2 dual-core processor, Wi-Fi, 3G support, PlayStation certified that allows to play PlayStation One games, act as a universal remote control and allows to “throw” multimedia content to other DLNA-enabled devices.
Tablet P on the other hand, features a clutch purse design that comes with two 5.5-inch touchscreen displays. Uniqueness of this tablet is that both screens can be used as separate displays or as one depending on the user’s preference. Tablet P too features similar specs like Tegra 2 chip, PlayStation Certified and boasts 3G support.
Both tablets will have optimized content from Indian developers.
The Wi-Fi-only Tablet S will sell for Rs. 29,990 whereas the 3G + Wi-Fi will go for Rs. 33,990. Tablet P comes in 3G + Wi-Fi model only which will sell for Rs. 36,990.
