Barnes & Noble announced their latest Nook device and its clearly trying to take Amazon’s Kindle Fire head on. We don’t know if Nook Tablet will be successful against Kindle Fire but the B&N offering surely looks promising. Priced at $249 ($50 more than Amazon Kindle Fire) the Wi-Fi-only Nook Tablet comes with a 7-inch 1024×600 VividView display along with a 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual-core processor and 1GB RAM.
Nook Tablet features all the entertainment goodies Netflix and Hulu Plus pre-loaded onto the device, apps and games support, email and web browsing and of course the bookstore where users can find over 2.5m titles. There’s also 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB and a battery life of up to 11.5 hours for reading and 9 hours for video.
Users can pre-order the device now which will be delivered by its November 18 release date.
