RIM announced a number of BlackBerry handsets today, including the recently glimpsed Torch 9810 and already announced Bold 9900/9930. In all, 5 handsets got the official acknowledgement — Bold 9900, Bold 9930, Torch 9810, Torch 9850 and Torch 9860 making it the largest global launch for RIM.
All the devices run the new BlackBerry 7 OS that comes with a faster browser, optimized HTML5 performance, zooming and panning. Additionally the new OS features Liquid Graphics technology to deliver an improved graphics performance, BlackBerry Balance and is pre-installed with updated BBM 6 and Social Feeds, premium version of Documents to Go and a native PDF viewer.
As for the devices, all of them feature 1.2GHz CPU, 768MB of RAM, 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Bold 9900/9930 are thinnest BlackBerry devices yet (only 10.5mm) and comes with a touchscreen display, QWERTY keyboard and NFC.
Torch 9810 adopts the slider form factor that features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display along with the excellent BlackBerry keyboard whereas 9850/9860 goes for the all-touch design. It comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, which is the highest ever on a BlackBerry along with the usual set of features.
RIM along with 225 various operators will launch the devices later this month.
