Archos has unveiled a pair of new tablets that won’t make consumers compromise on features for its low asking price. The Archos 80 G9 and Archos 10 G9 start from modest $279 but runs Honeycomb 3.1 OS and boasts the industry’s fastest 1.5GHz dual-core OMAP4 CPU from TI.
The strong features list of the 8-inch and 10.1-inch tablets include playback of full 1080p HD content, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, integrated kickstand, 720p HD webcam, HDMI-out and a whopping 250GB of storage. This huge storage is courtesy of a 2.5-inch HDD from Seagate but Archos will also offer a Flash storage-based variant that will 16GB of capacity along with a microSD card slot.
For heavy 3G data users, Archos will sell a $49 USB 3G stick that can be attached to the tablet to convert it into a 3G one.
As for the pricing, the 8-inch variant will sell for $279 whereas the 10.1-inch tablet will go for $349.
