Nokia has unwrapped its newest touchscreen phone and boy, it looks amazing. The MeeGo 1.2 running phone is carved out of a single polycarbonate material that flushes seamlessly with its 3.9-inch curved glass AMOLED WVGA display.
Unlike previous Nokia devices, the new N9 does not feature any button and relies on simple swipes and gestures on the phone to execute a function. The phone is powered by TI’s OMAP3630 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, up to 64GB of storage and features microSIM card support, 14.4Mbps HSDPA, 8MP Carl Zeiss autofocus wide-angle lens with dual LED flash, 720p HD video recording, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Dolby sound, A-GPS with free navigation, 3.5mm AV connector and 1450mAh battery claiming to give about 7 hours of talk time or 4.5 hours of 720p HD video playback or up to 50 hours of non-stop music.
Nokia N9 also features NFC and Nokia has taken the short-range wireless technology a step further by allowing it to communicate with accessories like speakers etc.
One thing we’re short of is the pricing and availability details but Nokia did confirm to release the phone this year.
