RIM today unveiled the a new Bold device – 9900/9930. It’s the first phone in the Bold range to integrate a touchscreen display as well as a full BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard under it. Bold 9900 and Bold 9930 are basically the same except for the network support, which is HSPA+ for 9900 and dual-band CDMA plus quad-band GSM for 9930.
The 10.5mm thick Bold 9900/9930 boasts a superior look with brushed stainless steel frame and high-gloss glass-weave backplate and features 1.2GHz CPU, 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen VGA display (640×480), 768MB RAM, 8GB onboard memory with microSD card slot, NFC support, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi and 1230mAh battery.
Another interesting feature is the integration of BlackBerry OS 7. The BlackBerry OS 7 builds on the current BlackBerry OS 6, making it more user friendly and secure, as other Blackberries are known for. The phone comes with an improved browser, voice activated searches and BlackBerry Balance that helps to keep the corporate and personal data separate.
Bold 9900 and Bold 9930 will be available across the world from this summer.
