First dual-core smartphone has reached India and it comes by way of LG. LG just announced the Optimus 2X – a dual-core Tegra 2-toting smartphone and considering the price of other Android smartphones, I would say its priced competitively.
For an asking price of Rs.30,000 a user gets an Android 2.2 running phone (upgradeable to Android 2.3) featuring 4-inch WVGA display, HSDPA, 8MP main camera with 1.3PM front-facing camera, full HD video recording and playback, Wi-Fi, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 7.1-channel virtual surround sound, HDMI-out and 1,500mAh battery.
LG also announced Optimus Black whose claim to fame is its super bright NOVA display. Running on Android 2.2 OS, the 9.2mm thick phone’s 4-inch NOVA display boasts a brightness of 700nits, making it the brightest and the clearest screen on a mobile phone.
Other features include a 1GHz processor, HSDPA, 5MP camera Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, microSD card slot, 1500mAh battery and more. It will sell for Rs.27,000.
