One feature that distinguishes BlackBerry with the rest is the integration of BlackBerry Messenger aka BBM. However, this could change soon as RIM is looking to expand the BlackBerry Messenger to other platforms like Android and iOS.
The move makes sense as cross-platform apps like Whatsapp, Kik, Live Profile are gaining quite a lot of traction on the concept which RIM developed.
According to BGR, RIM however, won’t provide full functionality in the cross-platform app like sharing multimedia content but will be a stripped-down version to give a taste of what BBM on BlackBerry is like.
There’s no ETA for the apps and RIM might even charge users a one-time or recurring fee to use BBM services.
