At a press conference in New Delhi, Olive Telecom today unwrapped OliveSmart V-S300, the first HSPA+ band supporting phone in India. The phone also takes the crown to be India’s first Android smartphone running the Gingerbread OS (Android 2.3).
Housed in a 9.9mm shell, it packs some meaty specs like Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, Adreno 205 graphics engine, 512MB RAM, 4.1-inch touchscreen display (WVGA), 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording support, front-facing camera, dual microphone for echo and noise cancellation, 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 OS, 2GB internal memory with microSD card slot (up to 32GB) and 1400mAh battery.
There’s no info about the availability but it will sell at an aggressive price of under Rs.20,000.
