Nokia’s new CEO, Stephen Elop had penned an astonishing letter to all its employees, which now has made out on the web for the whole world to see.
Engadget claims the letter is the real deal and if it is, the letter boldly acknowledges Nokia failing due to “missed trends and lost time.”
Elop refers Nokia standing on a “burning platform” that is being attacked by competitors from many fronts. He admits that Apple has taken over the high-end market with their iPhone whereas Android is bringing innovation and mass market smart phones at cheaper price.
Although he acknowledges that Nokia has “some brilliant sources of innovation” but fails because they can’t deliver product on time, mentioning MeeGo has only one device slated to launch this year.
You can read the whole letter at the link below but the statements made in the memo does indicate something — major surprises can be expected from the Finnish giant.
Perhaps, Capital Markets Day on this Friday will answer some of our queries.
