There’s no doubt that RIM is banking a lot on its upcoming PlayBook tablet and if the new claim by BGR turns out to be true, RIM will surely win a lot of accolades not only from the BlackBerry community but also from the Android. Apparently, BGR’s sources are claiming that the QNX-based PlayBook will support installing Android apps on the new tablet.
The reasoning behind this is that RIM is deciding on which Java environment to use and they’ll mostly go for Dalvik virtual machine, which Android also uses.
This of course, sounds too good to be true but the site reckons RIM could use the Dalvik VM and not bring Google into the picture or maybe cut a deal with Google to officially support QNX OS with Android apps.
