Western Digital has expanded its WD TV lineup for the Indian market with the introduction of WD TV Live Hub. Unlike all the previous offerings, the new WD TV Live Hub comes with an integrated storage, eliminating the need for the users to hook up an additional USB drive to enjoy multimedia content.
The WD TV Live Hub now comes with 1TB storage space and boasts full HD 1080p playback along with support of various video formats including MKV, MP4 and MOV. Additional features include support for HDMI 1.4, the ability to play content from DLNA/UPnP servers or stream from various online services like YouTube, Flickr, MediaFly, Pandora (works only in US) etc.
The device also supports checking weather from Accuweather.com, tight Facebook integration, Wi-Fi ready (needs a separate wireless USB dongle) and two USB ports that allows to copy or move data from the integrated storage to external storage media or copy/move from two different external media drives.
The WD TV Live Hub will be available by end of December for Rs.9,999.
