Oh boy, this doesn’t look good. Garmin-Asus launched a new phone yesterday and now we’re hearing murmurs of their possible split. According to a Chinese paper, Economic Daily, Garmin-Asus will end their partnership to launch co-branded phones after the expiry of their two-year deal, which is in January.
Both the companies will be back to what they were doing previously, that is Asus will launch phones with their own set of customizations under their own brand whereas Garmin will concentrate on its GPS biz. However, Garmin will still provide navigation software for Asus phones.
