Samsung today announced its first Android-powered tablet for the American market. Galaxy Tab that is touted to take on the mighty iPad will hit retail shelves before the holiday season on four major carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and Sprint.
Unlike the international version, Galaxy Tab for US won’t feature voice calling capability but has all the other features like 7-inch WSVGA display, Android 2.2, 1GHz CPU, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth, 3MP rear camera with front-facing camera for video calls, Social Hub, Media Hub (users can rent or purchase TV shows and movies), GPS, microSD card slot and 4,000mAh battery.
No word on the price.
