Sanyo has raised the bar in the pocket camcorder wars by introducing VPC-PD2BK. The PD2BK Dual camera not only captures full HD videos at 30fps but is also capable to capture images at 10MP resolution. Another interesting feature is that it supports 3x optical zoom, which is absent in most of pocket camcorders available in the market today.
Additionally, the VPC-PD2BK has High Speed Sequential Shooting Mode, 2-inch LCD screen, miniHDMI-out and up to 64GB memory support via SDXC cards.
It will be available from September for $169.99.

The optical zoom is a major step forward for pocket video cameras. But the ability to get a good shot with the zoom heightens the need to keep the shot steady. One of the big problems of these hand-held pocket camcorders in general is it’s really hard to hold them steady for very long. One solution is a tripod, but they can be cumbersome. Who wants to lug around a tripod when you can keep your camera in your pocket. Another solution is the readysteady, a pocket-sized device that lets you shoot steady video — even when you’re shooting action.
