UPDATE: HTC just notified us that Desire will come with SLCD and not AMOLED. You can take a look at the video here for a comparison.
After months of waiting, HTC has finally launched its high-end Desire phone for the Indian market. Desire is one desirable device that features a speedy 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3.7-inch display, Sense UI, 3G support, Wi-Fi, 5MP camera, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, GPS and microSD card slot.
Desire will ship with Android 2.1 OS but as we know an over-the-air Android 2.2 update is expected anytime soon.
Postpaid users on Tata Docomo who buy a Desire will be eligible for 500MB worth of data free for first 6 months. To avail this scheme, users will need to SMS Android to 54321from their Desire handset.
As for the price, it will go for Rs. 28,900, which if you ask me is tad pricey considering a better spec’d Samsung Galaxy S goes for little less.
