Saudi Arabia will become the first country to ban Blackberry services. They’ve confirmed that their ban will come into effect from August 6, Friday because RIM and concerned cellular operators weren’t able to comply with the rules.
Cellular operators STC, Mobily and Zain have been told by Saudi authorities to stop Blackberry service as RIM does not allow to monitor encrypted email messages that is said to be a danger to national security.
UAE also expressed its intention to place a similar ban if there is no solution by October.
