HTC yesterday announced the decision to sell phones under its own brand and also announced the first four phones for the Chinese market. While we do know the specs of Wildfire and Desire, Tianxi and Tianyi were unknown to us – until now that is.
HTC has published specifications of both these devices and Tianyi is confirmed to run Android 2.2. The device has a 416MHz CPU and it will be interesting to see if the lower clocked CPU will be able to run Froyo with Sense UI efficiently or not.
Other than that, Tianyi has China’s 3G aka the dual-band TD-SCDMA support (1880-1920/2010-2025MHz), tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz), 512MB ROM, 384MB RAM, 3.2-inch QVGA display, 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi (WAPI), Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), FM Radio and 1300mAh battery. Its dimension and weight are 60.4×107.05×12.2mm and 118 grams respectively.
The Tianxi is a Windows Mobile power horse that features Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, 800MHz CPU, TD-SCDMA/GSM support, RAM/ROM of 384MB/512MB, 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi 802.11n (WAPI), Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, CMMB TV, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and microSD card slot.
Wildfire and Desire will also run Froyo when it hits the Chinese market.
