Nokia’s Connection event in Singapore saw the unveiling of a new Xseries phone and another variant of X6. The new device to be announced is X5-01 that is said to fill the features void between X3 and X6.
However, more than the features it’s the design that is more catchy. The X5-01 adopts a square slider form factor, which is similar to Twist that was launched for Verizon.
Its features include a vertical sliding QWERTY keyboard, access to IM services and social networking sites, 5MP camera with LED flash and 4x digital zoom, 200MB internal memory, microSD card slot (up to 32GB) and few fancy features like spinning the phone like a DJ will change the current track and a shake will reveal messages waiting to be read.
Nokia has confirmed to bring the device to Indonesia in Q3 for a price of 165 euros. Few regions will have access to Ovi Music as well.
Meanwhile, Nokia released an 8GB variant of its X6 slider phone.
