PS3 3D

Sony’s promised software update for PS3 to make it 3D compatible is just a week away. Sony has confirmed that they’ll be rolling out the necessary 3D update in Japan first on June 10, followed by rest of the regions.

The initial games supporting 3D will be Wipeout HD, Star Strike HD and Mr. Pain – the last two games are restricted to Japan. The fourth 3D game, MotorStorm 2 will be available as an exclusive demo to 3D Bravia TV owners.

This 3D support is currently limited to downloaded games but Sony has said to release another update bringing Blu-ray 3D compatibility by end of this year.

Oh and if you’re wondering – yes, you’ll need a 3D TV to enjoy these games.
