If Nokia’s recent phone announcements are any indication, they are trying to pull the consumers back with highly competitive pricing. Today Nokia dropped X2 phone and although not as powerful and attractive as the N8, this one is surely going to please the people here in India who are looking for a sub-5K phone.
The candybar shaped X2 features a 2.2-inch QVGA display and is just 13mm thin and weighs just 81g. Clearly targeted at music loving audience, the X2 packs dual speakers, dedicated music keys, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM stereo and support for up to 16GB of storage via microSD card.
On the connectivity front, the phone features Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0. Another exciting thing that is seen with this phone is that the X2 offers direct access to Facebook from the homescreen and comes with Nokia Messaging for email and Instant Messaging. Moreover, Nokia has equipped the phone with a 5-megapixel camera.
The phone will hit the Indian stores by June end, however, the aggressive pricing of around Rs.5,000 will surely make competition run for their money.
In another Nokia related news, they’ve announced Ovi Music Unlimited in India. Now Indian consumers buying an Ovi Music Unlimited device can enjoy number of music tracks in various regional languages and genres. The Ovi Client has also been reduced from 60MB to just 3MB.
