Acer was confident of launching an e-book reader but has now confirmed that they won’t rush to the market just for the sake for launching. Acer even had some prototypes ready but reckoned to wait until the market is profitable.
“The size of the e-reader market is not that big and the industry has yet to come up with a proven business model,” said Acer chairman Wang Jeng-tang.
Acer was expected to launch its e-book reader by June-end but I still think they’ll show off a prototype at the Computex that will be held in Taiwan in early June.
