McGraw-Hill’s CEO has confirmed what Apple’s “latest creation” will be. In an interview with CNBC, he confirmed that Apple will indeed unveil the fabled tablet and will run on iPhone OS. Here’s the full transcript below.
“Yeah, Very exciting. Yes, they’ll make their announcement tomorrow on this one. We have worked with Apple for quite a while. And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable. So what you are going to be able to do now — we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format on that one. So now with the tablet you’re going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tablet is going to be just really terrific.”
Meanwhile, Engadget has posted couple of pictures of the Apple tablet. Still, there’s no way to check its authenticity but the device looks just like a larger-sized iPod touch. They also received another bit of related news which says that the Apple tablet will have a 10-inch screen, Macbook-like aluminum back and will run for $800 on contract with Verizon and $1000 w/o contract.
