Apple Store’s downtime is an indication of new incoming products and expectedly, the Cupertino-based company have returned announcing a fleet of products. To start with, Apple’s Mighty Mouse is now transformed into Magic Mouse bragging the first rights to bring multi-touch technology to mice. Magic Mouse adopts all the intuitive finger gestures instead of conventional buttons.
The mouse works on the laser tracking system that enables it to work on more surfaces and uses Bluetooth connectivity to communicate with the machine. Magic Mouse will be bundled with the new iMac or can be bought for $69.
Apple’s all-in-one computer, iMac line also got additions in the form of LED-backlit 21.5- and 27-inches displays with edge-to-edge glass design and aluminum enclosure. These are the most powerful iMacs that start with Core 2 Duo processors but can be upgraded to Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs.
The graphics on the 21.5-inch iMac is handled by integrated Nvidia GeForce 9400M or ATI Radeon HD 4670 discrete graphics card while 27-inch iMac can be hooked up with ATI Radeon HD 4670 or 4850. As for remaining specs, the iMacs support up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB HDD, slot-loading SuperDrive, Mini DisplayPort, USB ports, FireWire 800 and SD card slot. iMac starts from $1,199.
Mac Mini too, has got a bump on the hardware front. The $599, the lunch-box Mac gets 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, GeForce 9400M GPU, 5 USB ports, FireWire900 and SuperDrive. On the other hand, the $799 gets a 2.53GHz C2D CPU, 4GB RAM and 320GB HDD. Apple also offers a $999 Mac Mini model that is specifically made for Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server. This edition boasts two 500GB HDD taking the storage to an ample 1TB mark.
Finally, Apple’s polycarbonate Macbook has got a makeover taking it closer to Macbook Pro but keeping the price under $1000. The new Macbook has got an unibody design, LED-backlit screen, multi-touch trackpad and flushed battery giving up to 7 hours of runtime.
The Macbook specs sheet includes 13.3-inch LED screen, 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, GeForce 9400M GPU, SuperDrive, Mini DisplayPort, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, iSight webcam and USB ports.
