It’s good to see Asus breaking from the mould of nettops with rectangular shells. The EeeBox EB1501 not only adopts a metallic curvy chassis but is decently spec’d with Nvidia’s Ion chipset onboard and a surprise inclusion in a nettop – a slot loading optical drive. The core specifications include Atom 330 dual core processor, up to 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, GeForce 9400M GPU, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Ethernet, USB ports, HDMI-out, card reader and running Windows 7 Home Premium.
Asus will also set you up with an optional remote control to round up your next perfect HTPC. It is expected to sell €399 ($581) with 2GB RAM. No word on the availability yet.
