It took around nine months for Apple to pass the first billion mark but the second billion has come in a pretty quick time, 5 months to be precise. Today Apple’s App Store passed over 2 billion downloads with more than 85,000 apps on display. The surge in the downloads was possible because of the larger penetration of both, iPod touch and iPhone in more 77 countries.
Apple has sold more than 50m iPhone and iPod touch units.
