HP today introduced two slim and powerful notebooks, the ProBook 5310m and Pavilion dm3. The ProBook 5310m is the thinnest full performance notebook in the world that measures just 0.9-inches and sports a 13.3-inch LED backlit display supporting HD resolution. The exterior is covered with black anodized aluminum with a magnesium frame while the interior houses a standard voltage Core 2 Duo SP9300 CPU, up to 4GB of RAM, HDD or SSD options, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional mobile broadband. The notebook’s standard Li-polymer battery promises a battery life of up to 7 hours but users can select an optional six-cell battery to crank out more hours that will be available later in the year. ProBook 5310m is also available with Celeron dual-core CULV processor.
Pavilion dm3 gives users to select from an Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Neo Dual Core processors along with an option to select an ATI or an Nvidia discrete GPU. Amongst other things, the 13.3-inch notebook offers HD playback, 4GB RAM, Wi-Fi, webcam and optional mobile broadband.
As for the pricing, HP ProBook 5310m starts at $699 with an Intel Celeron dual core and $899 with Intel Core 2 Duo whereas Pavilion dm3 starts at $549 with an AMD processor and $649 with an Intel one.
