In addition to A500 series DSLRs, Sony also announced a full-frame Alpha A850 DSLR. The new DSLR builds on the features of Sony’s A900 camera but at a lesser price.
The 24.6 megapixel A850 integrates a 35mm full-frame Exmor sensor coupled with dual BIONZ imaging processors to capture topnotch photos. A850 has a unique intelligent preview function that captures a RAW image of the desired photo and allows user to change the photo composition and view histogram details before taking the actual picture. Other features include ultra-bright viewfinder giving 98 percent of view coverage, 3-inch LCD, Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) with five levels of user-selectable correction, SteadyShot image stabilizer, HDMI-out and dedicated slots for different types of memory cards.
The A850 will be available in September for around $2000 (body).
