The last we heard about Palm’s webOS rocking Eos (Pixie) was in May and was believed to have a second half 2009 release on AT&T, just before the holidays. However, now a Morgan Joseph analyst, Ilya Grozovsky claims that the device won’t make its way out this year. The reason for is to remain competitive with iPhone, especially the $99 iPhone model.
“We think that the Pixie, which we believe is being geared for AT&T and has a different form factor than the Pre, is not likely to be available for the 2009 holiday season. Palm needs to push the Eos hard if the company hopes to hold its own against Apple’s iPhone–particularly its $99 model–at AT&T.”
If that was not enough, Grozovsky also claimed about the declining sales of Pre. According to his sources, the Pre sales saw a major 100,000 unit drop from June to July and is expected to drop further this month.
