Intel has issued a firmware update that tries to fix the data corruption problem found in the 34nm SSDs. The issue fixed was not a big one unless a user used BIOS password protection. With the out-of-factory firmware equipped SSDs, the drives would become inaccessible in case when the user changes or disables the BIOS password.
You can proceed to fix it but there’s one caveat. You need to disable BIOS password first if you have it enabled. More details here.
