After retreating from the phone market in Europe and China in 2007, NEC Corp. is mulling to restart its overseas sales. They haven’t zeroed in the market or the phone but it seems Europe will be the first stop.
NEC withdrew from the international market because their phones, even though packed with features were tagged as expensive by the price conscious users.
Now, NEC seems ready for the challenge and claims they can target the market with the devices ranging around $300. They are planning to sell around 4m devices outside Japan this year.
