Seagate today upgraded its FreeAgent for Mac series drives by upping the storage as well as adding couple of new features to lure the professional creative crowd. The line includes two portable HDDs, one Desk HDD and a docking station.
The portable drives consist of FreeAgent Go and FreeAgent Go Pro, both have got a storage bump to up to 500GB. However, the reason the latter to be called Pro because it adds the support of FireWire 800/400 (USB 2.0 too) and the drives are fast at 7,200RPM. The 500GB versions of both the drives will cost $150 and $190 respectively.
The Desk drive is basically a 3.5-inch HDD with a 2TB storage and an aesthetic boost to a brushed aluminum arctic silver finish to match the iMac color. The FreeAgent Desk for Mac is currently selling for $340.
Finally it’s the FreeAgent Go Dock+ that works as intended but also adds three USB ports to act as a USB hub. This goes for $40.
