As expected, Nintendo showed the Wii Fit Plus at the E3 presser today. It adds six new strength and yoga exercises, customizable routines to tone a particular part of the body, 15 new balance board games and a revamped UI. Wii Fit Plus will be sold as a standalone unit and also with the Balance Board. It will ship in fall.
One of the strangest announcements was Wii’s Vitality Sensor. Satoru Iwata unveiled the product without divulging more details. The official description says that it’s a biorhythmic sensor connected to the Wii Remote and putting a finger inside it transmits the heart rate and other details on to the screen. It’s a health related peripheral so it wouldn’t be surprising to see it being integrated with Wii Fit.
