Looks like HP has got more problems than they had anticipated. After recalling about 70,000 batteries in US, they have issued a recall of 15,000 laptop batteries sold in China from August 2007 to January 2008.
Though any incidents have not been reported, the batteries are said to overheat and trigger into an external combustion. HP China is currently offering a free replacement for the affected owners of HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario models.

My previous laptop, a HP Pavilion used to generate a good amount of heat. Later, I came to know that there was some problem with the battery and it was loaded with too many features that I don’t require…Now I am an Acer fan. Recently, I have heard from my friend that they are going to launch some new products on May 26 in New Delhi. The good thing about Acer is they give us the choice of selecting features, which we require and not thrown at us and that too, at affordable price.
