Not exactly Kindle 3 but Amazon has unwrapped its newest Kindle offering, the DX. As expected it brings in an extra few inches, which now measures at 9.7-inches (e-ink display) and tie ups with newspaper and academic textbook publishers. On the features front, it includes auto-rotating screen, built-in PDF reader, larger user storage of approx. 3.3GB that can store up to 3,500 books and borrows the rest of them from Kindle 2 like Text-to-speech, Whispersync, QWERTY keyboard, humongous battery life etc.
However, an extra 3.7-inches of goodness comes at a price. It is now being preordered at a whopping $489.
