If you’ve been following the netbook scene for some time and have a little practical sense, you wouldn’t be surprised to see Nvidia ION powered netbooks coming to the fray. So we were not surprised to hear that this transitional step for netbooks was about to be a reality. A source at Nvidia told Pocket-lint that we’ll see some ION based netbook announcements at Computex which will ship as early as July.
The source hasn’t revealed the company names but addresses them as “key” players, so our best guess can be the home players – Asus, MSI and Acer who have certainyl revolutionized the netbook market.
For those who are new to the ION platform, it is a fusion between an Intel Atom CPU and Nvidia 9400M GPU that allows users to view 1080p content as well as play a few less demanding 3D games.
