Nintendo ships more than 50 million Wii consoles

Wii’s GPU (AMD) and CPU (IBM) suppliers had announced about their 50 million milestone, thus it was about time for Nintendo to officially acknowledge the same for the console. At the GDC yesterday, Nintendo announced that their global Wii shipment has surpassed 50 million units making it the fastest selling console in the gaming history.
Nintendo also announced a new Zelda game as well as the long awaited Wii Storage solution.
