KDDI Japan revealed 12 new phones as a part of its 2009 au lineup including the S001 phone by Sony Ericsson. This slider phone bears a Global Passport tag which means that it can work anywhere in the world, supporting both CDMA as well as GSM networks. It packs a huge 3.3-inch OLED screen with WVGA resolution (480X854 pixels), Bluetooth, microSD card support, 1-Seg, GPS and infrared.
The phone hails from the Cyber-shot series which is stuffed with all the photography goodness. It has an 8.1-megapixel EXMOR CMOS sensor with LED flash and autofocus, high sensitivity shooting up to ISO1600, Smile Shutter, Face recognition, image stabilizer, Best Pic and random scene recognition which automatically selects a scene and adjusts exposure and white balance settings.
The phone will be available in three color options – Pink, Olive Gold and Black.
