Out of nowhere, HP announced their two new Windows-powered iPAQ phones. Pictured on the left is HP Data Messenger which has a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard. And on the right is a non-touchscreen Windows smartphone HP Voice Messenger which tries to mimic Blackberry’s SureType keyboard layout. Voice Messenger has a 2.4-inch screen with QVGA resolution.
The feature set is pretty identical for both the phones with a fast 528MHz Qualcomm processor and 128MB SDRAM running non-flavored version of Windows Mobile 6.1. Both the phones have tri-band UMTS and quad-band GSM support, optical mouse instead of a D-pad, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and 3.1 megapixel camera.
The phones will be available with Vodafone from next month at a list price of $665 (Data Messenger) and $532 (Voice Messenger).
