Asus has a wide range of Windows-based laptops but the Taiwanese company is now trying to shake things up in the Indian market with the introduction of its Chromebook series. Targeting those who seek affordability, Asus announced four new models at enticing price points.
First up is the Chromebook Flip C214 11.6-inch notebook targeted at the educational sector. Certified with military ruggedness, the Chromebook Flip chassis can withstand everyday knocks, bumps and accidental spills. The 2-in-1 Chromebook is powered by Intel’s dual-core processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and has the capability to expand storage to up to 2TB via the microSD card slot. It also boasts a 5MP camera, an HD webcam and stereo loudspeakers, which is the need of the hour in the pandemic-led virtual classes.
The C223 is the entry-level Chromebook, which brings the goodness of Chrome OS at a price tag of well under Rs. 20,000. It’s designed for portability, making it one of the lightest Chromebooks at 1kg and features 4GB RAM but has 32GB of internal storage and expandable storage of up to 256GB.
The C423 and C523 are similarly designed and will sell as touch and non-touch variants. Both are powered by Intel’s Celeron processor and features a 14-inch HD and 15.6-inch Full HD display respectively.
As for the common features, all run on Google’s Chrome OS that allows installing Android apps as well as use Linux apps, 2×2 Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5 and USB Type-C for fast charging.
The Chromebooks will go on sale on Flipkart from July 22 at a special pricing.
