Samsung announced its 2021 flagship series, the Galaxy S21 yesterday. Three phones in the series, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra pre-orders have started in India. All the three devices in India will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2100 chipset that is 5G ready. Out of the three, Galaxy S21 Ultra is the larger device with 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. All the devices feature an adaptive screen refresh rate up to 120Hz, this means basis the content on the screen, the phone will adjust intelligently to the refresh rate. A good feature that will save battery. The Galaxy S21 features a 6.2-inch display and the S21+ comes with a 6.7-inch screen.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup. The primary camera is 108-megapixel and features two telephoto lens of 10-megapixel each and ultra-wide lens of 12-megapixel. Galaxy S21 Ultra can shoot 4K at 60fps across all lenses, front and rear. For closer shots, the phone comes with a 100x Space Zoom.
The younger siblings, Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ feature a triple rear camera, an ultra-wide lens of 12-megapixel, wide-angle lens of 12-megapixel and a 64-megapixel telephone lens. The front camera is 10-megapixel. In Portrait Mode, the AI-powered camera leverages an improved 3D analysis that separates the subject more accurately from the background. It also brings in options for virtual studio lighting and AI background effects to make sure the subject pops from the frame. It also works for selfies too. They have improved Space Zoom with the new Zoom Lock for elusive faraway shots that captures clearer images at 30x zoom.
Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ come with a single RAM option of 8GB and 128GB/256GB storage option. While the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with 12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage or 16GB with 512GB internal storage. Besides, Galaxy S21 Ultra also supports S Pen, which was till now exclusive to the Note series phones. You can use an existing S Pen from a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Tab or purchase an S Pen separately on its own or with a compatible case. The Galaxy S21 Series will be available in six colours: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, Phantom White, Phantom Grey and Phantom Pink.
Consumers can pre-book Galaxy S21 Series starting January 15 across Samsung’s Exclusive Stores and retail stores and on Samsung.com and leading online portals. All pre-booked consumers will get Galaxy Smart Tag free and Samsung E-Shop voucher of up to Rs.10,000. As a special offer, all pre-booked consumers can get Galaxy Watch Active 2 or a combo of Galaxy Buds+ and Travel Adapter with a device of their choice. In addition to this, consumers can also avail HDFC Bank cashback of up to Rs. 10,000 or have an option to avail upgrade bonus of up-to Rs.5,000.
