While Google skipped the Pixel 4 device for India, however, it has been quick to reveal the Pixel 4a that will be incoming to India in October this year. For the uninitiated, the ‘a’ in the Pixel series is the mid-tier segment phone with imaging capabilities of the high-end version.

The Pixel 4a will come in Just Black colour featuring a 5.8-inch OLED display that features a hole punch design. Pixel 4a will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor. The device will only come in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version. For Pixel 4a users, Google is also offering three-month free trials of YouTube Premium and Google One.

Google Pixel phones are known for their amazing imaging capabilities. Despite featuring a single lens, Pixel devices are capable of delivering amazing captures. Google also claims the same for Pixel 4a. The phone will support HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography capabilities and fused video stabilisation.

In addition to features like Recorder, which now connects with Google Docs to seamlessly save and share transcriptions and recordings (English only), Pixel 4a will feature helpful experiences like the Personal Safety app for real-time emergency notifications. The rear of the phone features a fingerprint sensor and a has a single rear camera of 12-megapixel. The front selfie camera is 8-megapixel.

Pixel 4a also has Live Caption, which provides real-time captioning (English only) for your video and audio content. New with the Pixel 4a launch—and also rolling out for Pixel 2, 3, 3a and 4 phones—Live Caption will now automatically caption your voice and video calls.

Introduced last year with the Pixel 4, the new Google Assistant will be available in the Pixel 4a. Google India has not yet revealed the pricing of Pixel 4a and will reveal the same nearing to the launch in October. However, two new 5G Pixel phones that were announced globally will not be available in India or Singapore.
