HONOR launched three new products in India, the first one is the HONOR 9X which is an upgrade to the currently selling HONOR 8X. Along with this smartphone, it also announced HONOR MagicWatch2 and HONOR Band 5i. HONOR 9X features a 6.59-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2340×1080. The phone is powered by Kirin 710F processor and comes with options of 4GB RAM or 6GB RAM with a single storage option of 128GB. It features a rear-finger print sensor and also has a 3.5-mm audio jack. The phone has a 4000mAh battery. Its rear is made of 3D curved plastic with gloss texture.
HONOR 9X features triple camera setup at the rear. The primary camera is 48-megapixel, there is a 8-megapixel super wide angle camera and 2-megapixel depth assist lens. The front camera is 16-megapixel and uses pop-up mechanism.
HONOR 9X will be available in Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black colours, featuring 6GB and 4GB RAM along with 128GB ROM. The 4GB variant will sell for Rs. 13,999 and the 6GB variant will retail for Rs. 16,999. It will be available on Flipkart starting 19 January.
On the wearables front, HONOR MagicWatch 2 46mm featuring a 1.39-inch HD AMOLED display was launched. Powered by Kirin A1 chipset, HONOR claims a battery life of 2 weeks on a single charge. As a fitness tracker, HONOR MagicWatch 2 supports 15 goal-based fitness modes including indoor sports and outdoor modes like running, hiking, cycling and triathlons to indoor pool swimming, free training and rowing machine, etc. HONOR MagicWatch 2 is also packed with a virtual pace-setter with real-time actionable advice to help enhance workout efforts at your own pace. The watch is 5ATM water resistant that can be used underwater.
HONOR MagicWatch 2 can also track and diagnose 6 common types of sleep disorders and provide suggestions for better sleep. It can also detect the user’s stress level and suggest breathing exercises to ease the stress level with the support of HUAWEI TruRelax technology. Enabled by HUAWEI TruSeen, HONOR MagicWatch 2 keeps an eye on the user’s heart rate 24×7 and sends an alert when it goes above or below normal levels. Additionally, SPO2 and VO2 feature monitor the oxygen saturation levels in the bloodstream and provide users with a better understanding of how their body is adapting during the workouts or at high altitudes. This feature is designed to help people with breathing and heart problems to monitor, and manage their oxygen levels.
The smartwatch also supports call making and receiving function with the built-in speaker and mic. It supports push notifications from SMS messages, emails, calendar and all contents will be displayed on the screen when the HONOR MagicWatch 2 is connected to your phone. Built-in apps including Weather, Alarm, Timer, Find My Phone and more are also available for easy access. HONOR MagicWatch 2 also provides 4GB built-in storage allowing up to 500 songs so you can enjoy your favourite music without carrying your phone.
The HONOR MagicWatch 2 in 42mm variant will also roll out in India soon. The variant will be an addition to HONOR’s watch series with leading health monitoring features. HONOR MagicWatch 2 (46mm), will be available on Amazon at Rs. 12,999 for the Charcoal Black variant and Rs. 14,999 for the Flax Brown variant. The smartwatch will be available from 18 January for Prime members and everyone from 19 January. The 42mm version of the smartwatch will retail at a price of Rs. 11,999 for the Agate Black variant and Rs. 14,999 for the Sakura Gold variant.
In the fitness band segment, HONOR Band 5i features 0.96-inch colour display with touch capabilities. HONOR Band 5i supports 24×7 heart rate tracking with the Huawei TruSeen 3.0 technology. It also supports clock faces to download from the Watch Face Store. The fitness band also features AI-driven algorithms for precise readings. Additionally, HONOR Band 5i is expected to get the SpO2 monitor soon through OTA update that will track oxygen saturation levels in the bloodstream so that you can assess howing during workouts or at high altitudes your body is adapt. The 5ATM water resistant band (upto 50 metres) recognizes 9 different fitness modes including outdoor and indoor running, walking or cycling, rowing, elliptical and free training. It tracks and displays data such as heart rate, workout time, distance, stride frequency, speed, calories, aerobic/ anaerobic results for a more in depth workout plan.
Other smart assistant features of the band includes music control, remote camera control, find your phone, incoming call notifications, message and activity reminder and stopwatch. The battery on the band stays upto 7 days, which can be recharged using USB connection on a laptop, card or any device.
HONOR Band5i will be available in Black colour, for Rs. 1,999 on Amazon from 18 January for Prime members and 19 January for everyone.
