2019 is coming to an end and LG dropped its dual-screen phone, the G8XThinQ in India for Rs. 49,999. The LG G8XThinQ is basically a single smartphone but doubles as a dual-screen phone with its phone cover called LG Dual Screen that features an additional display inside measuring the same size of the G8XThinQ screen, that is 6.4-inch. While closed, one can view notifications on the 2.1-inch cover display. It features a 360-degree hinge so that you can use it as a laptop or fold it completely to have back-to-back screens.
Depending on the usage, one can use the phone as a standalone device or snug it into the Dual Screen for a more screen estate experience. The LG 8XThinQ is powered by Snapdragon 855 processor and comes with 6GB RAM. It features 128GB storage and supports micro SD cards up to 2TB. The cameras on the phone are 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel super-wide-angle at the rear. The front camera is 32-megapixel. The phone features an in-display fingerprint sensor and runs on a 4000mAh battery. LG 8XThinQ is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
For gaming enthusiasts, the 8XThinQ offers LG Game Pad feature that gives gamers complete view of a game on one screen and a full controller on the other, one can choose from multiple virtual controllers or build a custom layout to match specific gameplay needs and styles. LG Game Pad mimics touch input on the main display, making it compatible with most games.
To make use of the dual-screen, there is also LG Smart Keyboard that converts LG G8XThinQ Dual Screen into a mini-laptop. The bottom display transforms into a full-screen virtual keyboard making it easier to write emails, edit presentations, text, or search the web in full-screen on the top display.
LGs take on the dual-screen is pretty innovative and does not cost a bomb, however, the phone is available in only Aurora Black colour, also as a standalone device, the hardware specifications are not that great when compared to current generation phones at that price.
