The successor to the Mi A2, Xiaomi today announced the Mi A3 featuring a triple-camera setup. Xiaomi has been teasing this phone on social media since past few days and today it has officially launched the same. The A-series from Xiaomi has always been Android One products. The Mi A3 is no different and under the Android One Program it will receive security updates for 2 years and system updates directly from Google. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie.
The Mi A3 features a 6.08-inch Super AMOLED display which has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It has an in-display finger print sensor. The Mi A3 has Gorilla Glass 5 on the rear and at the front and a 3D glass finish rear. The phone also has a P2i nano coating for protection against accidental spills. A good thing about the Mi A3 is that is comes with a 3.5-mm headphone jack and even an IR Blaster which is a good add-on.
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor. There are two variants of the phone, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. It supports MicroSD card up to 256GB. There is an in-display finger print sensor with support for Face unlock as well.
The highlight of the phone is the triple rear camera setup of 48-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel wide angle lens and 2-megapixel depth camera. The camera has Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), supports 4K video recording at 30fps and also has Electronic Image Stabilisation for video recording. The front camera is 32-megapixel and offers panorama selfies.
The Mi A3 has a 4030mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and has a Type-C USB port. The colour names chosed by Xiaomi for Mi A3 are interesting, Kind of Grey, Not Just Blue and More than White.
The Mi A3 4GB+64GB variant is priced at Rs. 12,999 and the 6GB+128GB is priced at Rs. 15,999 which is pretty competitive. The devices would be available on Amazon India, Mi Home and Mi.com starting 12PM on 23 August. HDFC customers can get Rs. 750 as cashback and additional Rs. 200 off on EMI transactions on both the variants during initial few weeks.
