Xiaomi’s flagship phone, the Mi 9 launched today in China. With Samsung launching its Galaxy S10 flagship phone today, Xiaomi has unveiled Mi9 that runs on Qualcomm’s latest chipset Snapdragon 855. Along with the new chipset, the phone will also come with triple rear camera with a 48-megapixel Sony sensor. Besides this, it also comes with a 20W fast charging support. In addition to the Mi 9, Xiaomi also announced the Mi 9 Transparent Edition that features 12GB of RAM, and a 7P lens for its camera with a maximum aperture of f/1.47. In addition, Mi 9 SE was also announced. It also comes with the flagship-level IMX586 camera sensor and is targeted at those who like a smaller form factor. The Mi 9 series start sale in China on 26 February, with Mi 9 starting at RMB 2999 (Rs. 32,000), and Mi 9 SE starting at RMB 1999 (Rs. 22,000).
In terms of design, the Mi 9 features a curved rear. The display is 6.39-inch AMOLED with a water-drop style notch. Xiaomi has implemented the in-display fingerprint sensor in Mi9 and claims to be 25% faster than previous generation. The AI triple camera featuring a 48-megapixel main camera sensor, 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle, and 12-megapixel telephoto camera will deliver excellent results.
On the battery front, the phone comes with 3300mAh battery which supports 27W wired and 20W wireless fast charging. In the fast wired charging mode, the phone can charge to 70% in just 30 minutes and fully charge in 60 mins. The Mi 9 comes in three versions, 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB (Transparent Edition). The compact version, Mi 9 SE features a 5.99-inch display and is powered by Snapdragon 712 processor. Mi 9 SE will be available from 1 March at 10 am on mi.com, starting from RMB 1999 (Rs. 22,0000) for 6GB+128GB, and RMB 2299 (Rs. 25,000) for 6GB+128GB.
