Amazon today announced a new Echo device that essentially enables any speaker to gain the Alexa smartness. It’s the small Echo Input device that essentially integrates all the Alexa functionality but requires an external speaker to output the result. Echo Input can be connected to your favourite speaker via Bluetooth or via the bundled 3.5mm aux cable, in case the speaker doesn’t support Bluetooth functionality.
The 12.5mm Echo Input works similar to the rest of Echo devices, bringing full Amazon Alexa audio experience with support for controlling smart devices, music and more.
The device is available on Amazon India and Croma, Vijay Sales and other offline retailers for Rs. 2,999. Amazon is also running some launch offers if you buy a Bose, JBL or UE Boom speakers.
